Global Health Short Course (GHSC) is a student-driven project to promote global health education to medical students. This half-day event features inspiring speakers who are advocates for vulnerable populations with the aim to broaden students' worldview as future doctors. Our goal is to fill in the gaps in the medical curriculum to allow students to reach their full potential as future health advocates!
This year we aim to discuss "Stigma in Medicine", featuring presentations on sexual health communication with CALD communities as well as Indigenous mental health. We will also have an Auslan workshop teaching students important medical jargon to sign in hospitals with patients who are hard of hearing.
The day will comprise of 3 keynote speakers presenting 30-40 minute talks on these important topics, followed by quick workshop activities that strengthen the skills discussed (such as case based discussions). Lunch will be provided!
