International Women's Day: A Conversation and A Vision

This event is to celebrate International Women's Day on the 8th of March. This EMP is is being submitted so close to the date as the previous Women's Officer resigned and I have only come into the role on Wednesday. The idea for this event is to have a guided conversation surrounding expriences as women and non-binary students. Attendees will be given the opportunity to anonymously submit conversation prompts which will be touched on, as well as prompts from myself. We will have food provided and then move onto a forward-facing conversation around suggestions for the university for the future. This will include discussions of what would make the campus a safer place from women and NB and give students a chance to ask for what they deserve. This event will only be open to women and non-binary students to allow for a more comfortable space to discuss any topic concerning our experiences as students. I am aim to provide a way for all students to have a say in the role of the Women's Department as well as simply celebrate our gender on International Women's Day.
