Conducted by Linda Hardey, Physiotherapist and Feldenkrais Practitioner, this workshop will demonstrate that how you think, impacts how you move.

By moving your body through a guided series of actions, you will learn how to sense and thus organise your movements, and how you can enhance your comfort and ease during practice and performance through expanding your awareness.

The session will begin with learning how to sense your own posture. We will engage in some movement lessons in sitting and in lying on the floor. You will gather a better understanding in how to organise your spine, pelvis, legs, arms, shoulders, and neck to find a more balanced and efficient use of your body. This will enable you to play more easily, reducing tension in your body, and ensure a better way to practice and perform.

Linda has many years of experience working individually with a range of adults and children including musicians, and running groups for her peers and the public. The exercises demonstrated in the Movements for Musos workshop will be based on lessons in the Feldenkrais Method.
