Responding to Sexual Assault Disclosures

Interhealth SRH has paired with the Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) to host this amazing workshop open to all medical and healthcare students! This 2 hour incredibly high-yield workshop will provide an overview of sexual violence issues in Australia and will involve a hands-on opportunity for participants to rehearse skills required to respond effectively to a disclosure from an adult or adolescent. The workshop will discuss topics such as: - Australian statistics and research - Consent and the law - Online risks - The impacts of sexual trauma and emerging issues - Helpful responses, support options and skills for responding effectively This event will be FREE of charge as we believe it is so essential for students to enter the workforce and hospital system fully prepared to respond appropriately and be aware of the resources available for individuals who have faced sexual violence/assault.  Please note: the content of this workshop may be triggering for some participants
