Ignite Mentoring is a student-run, not-for-profit organisation that aims to deliver dynamic and engaging mentoring programs to high school students in Perth. Ignite Mentoring aims to develop self confidence in students from lower socio-economic areas by fostering an environment in which they feel valued, capable and heard. We operate exclusively in schools in low socio-economic areas, seeking to address challenges such as lower levels of self-efficacy, motivation and school attendance through our small group mentoring programs. These programs run weekly for one semester, with a focus on providing positive role-models and developing students’ self-confidence through soft skills development in areas such as teamwork, resilience and problem solving. Our programs are open for anyone from the age of 17-27 from all backgrounds and education levels. Mentoring with Ignite Mentoring allows you to develop new skills, make life-long friends and make an impact on the lives of the students we work with. Applications to mentor with Ignite Mentoring open every semester and more information about the application process and mentoring with Ignite Mentoring can be found on our website.
