Art Against Violence: Online Exhibition

The Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery will be showcasing pieces from their online database and the powerful posters and work of Ann Newmarch, a South Australian artist and educator.Ann Newmarch emerged as a key figure in the feminist art movement in Adelaide during the 1970s and 80s, making politically engaged work that drew from her personal experiences and critiqued the social conditions underlying them.Join us as we explore her artwork that challenged traditional notions of art, representations of women and the unseen aspects of women’s labour.
