QFin and the Mathematics Union are very excited to announce that Adrian Dudek, a mathematics PhD and ex-Optiver trader, will be coming to campus to deliver a speech on his journey from number theorist to options trader on August 11.

In this talk, Adrian will discuss how he went from researching prime numbers to trading derivatives and answering the all-too-common question: how does a mathematics degree prepare you for a career in industry? We will learn about some cute facts about prime numbers and take a look at the Riemann hypothesis before moving into some introductory options theory alongside some trading war stories.

If you're interested in learning how to break into the quantitative finance industry from someone who has successfuly done it, this event is for you!

Pizza and drinks will be provided following the event. This is a free event, with a club membership with either QFin or the Mathematics Union required for entry.
