Institute for Indian Mother and Child (IIMC) are collaborating with DESI Student Society to raise money for child and maternal health clinics in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The two organisations have decided to achieve this by screening a Bollywood movie and providing curry, popcorn, and lollies. Attendants will be treated to a wholesome, cultural experience and contribute to the recovery of communities still reeling from the effects of COVID-19.
Doors will open at 7pm, at which point curry will be served to all ticket holders. Popcorn and lollies will also be sold to those who wish to buy it. Attendees will then be ushered into the theatre at 8pm and a Bollywood movie obtained through legitimate means will be screened. The movie will not have a rating that exceeds M and will end at 11:00pm to 11:30pm, though the venue will be booked until 12pm to account for any unexpected delays.
Promotional material, including cover photo, poster, and Facebook event. will be released closer to the event date.
Alcohol will not be provided at the event, nor will it be permitted within the venue.
