This is a series of group discussions focusing on egocentrism and empathy. Egocentrism is a psychoanalytic concept whereby individuals have difficulties disentangling 'subjective experiences' from 'objective reality'. In these discussions, we will examine films by Daniel Shienert and Daniel Kwan, David Fincher, and Michel Gondry, in addition to readings from Alenka Zupancic and David Foster Wallace.
