As a part of Welfare Week at UWA, the petting zoo is for students to take a break from studying to relax as it is important to promote a healthy mindset during stressful periods at University.

The petting zoo will be run by Barnyard Buddies. There will be 1 enclosure with the small animals (bunnies, guinea pigs, chicks and ducklings) in small pens around the edge. People can reach over and pat and feed them. The bigger animals (lambs or kid goats, adult chickens, ducks) are in the space in the middle for patting and hand feeding.

The staff can allow people to hold the small animals or not. It depends on various factors such as how many people are coming through the pen and how hot the weather is.

This will be a non-ticketed event and will be for people walking by/through ezone to have a break and relax for a while.

Although this is a new event for the University Engineers' Club, this event has been done on campus before and has been successful.
