Lyn Beazley Institute Applications Now Open!

The Lyn Beazley Institute for Public Policy was established in 2020 by the UWA Student Guild to encourage students to tackle social and global issues facing our generation of students.  

We are looking for passionate and purpose-filled students to be appointed as the Executives of the Institute and lead UWA students who are interested in creating ground-breaking public policy for large-scale world issues.  

The descriptions of each role are as detailed below:

Deputy Chair Internal

The role of the Deputy Chair Internal is to –
a. Coordinate the Policy Centres;
b. Supervise the Management Team in conjunction with the Deputy Chair External;
c. Ensure member satisfaction and resolve conflicts arising; and
d. Perform other such duties as determined by the Lyn Beazley Institute Chair.  

Deputy Chair External

The role of the Deputy Chair External is to –
a. Coordinate all sponsorship activities of the Institute;
b. Coordinate the marketing strategy of the Institute;
c. Oversee the recruitment of the management team;
d. Supervise the management team in conjunction with the Deputy Chair External; and
e. Perform other such duties as determined by the Lyn Beazley Institute Chair. 

Secretary

The role of the Secretary is to –
a. Keep and maintain records of all meetings of the Institute Executive and the broader committee;
b. Maintain the official documents of the Institute;
c. Maintain the calendar of the Institute;
d. Undertake any other administrative tasks that may arise; and
e. Perform other such duties as determined by the Lyn Beazley Institute Chair.  

Treasurer

The role of the Treasurer is to –
a. Maintain a budget on an annual and event basis;
b. Assume responsibility for keeping the Institute’s financial records in an honest and responsible manner;
c. Update the Executive on the Institute’s financial position;
d. Liaise with the Management Team and Policy Centres; and
e. Perform other such duties as determined by the Lyn Beazley Institute Chair.
