Get involved with the clubs of UWA - nominations for The 2022 Societies Council and Public Affairs Council are open!
They will be open for two weeks and will close at 5pm on the 27th October.
Elections will be held on the 28th of October at 3pm - venue TBC.
SOC Committee
Nominations for the following positions are now open for the 2021 Societies Council Committee:
1x Vice President
1x Treasurer
1x Secretary
3x Ordinary Committee Members
Please note, to be eligible to hold and nominate for a position listed in rule 24 (VP, Secretary, Treasurer, 3x OCMs), a person must at the time of the close of the Nomination Period:
Be a current (or within the past two years have been) a committee member of an Affiliated Society, a Club Executive of an Affiliated Society or held a position on the Societies Council Committee, demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Returning Officer, at the time of the nomination.
PAC Committee
Nominations for the following positions are now open for the 2021 Public Affairs Council Committee:
1x Vice President
1x Treasurer
1x Secretary
3x Ordinary Committee Members
Please note you must be a Guild Member to nominate for these positions.
Role Descriptions
The following are brief position descriptions for each role. Please note positions are flexible and expectations may vary based on the needs of Sub-Council from time to time.
SOC
VP
- Assist President, represent them where President is unavailable.
- Assists in the management of the Committee and Sub-Committee
Treasurer
- Manages Club Grants
- Oversees club finances for accuracy
- Assists in the management of the SOC/PAC budget
Secretary
- Takes minutes at council meetings, committee meetings and other sub-committee meetings
- General Administration, including ERFs, mailing lists, website etc
OCM
- Assigned tasks as need by the Executive.
- Assists the Council to fulfil its objects.
PAC
VP
- Assist President, represent them where President is unavailable.
- Assists in the management of the Committee and running of Theme Weeks
Treasurer
- Manages Club Grants
- Oversees theme week budget and grants
- Assists in the management of the PAC budget
Secretary
- Takes minutes at council meetings, committee meetings and other sub-committee meetings
- General Administration, including ERFs, mailing lists, website etc
OCM
- Assigned tasks as needed by the Executive.
- Assists the Council to fulfil its objects.
- May be assigned to run a theme week or assist in the larger theme weeks (eg. Head of Marketing and Design for Fringe Week)
