A Better Life Animal Sanctuary Busy Bee

A Better Life Animal Sanctuary (ABLAS) is an animal sanctuary near York whose goal is to look after and organise adoptions for homeless and mistreated or exploited animals. They hope to educate and raise awareness of living a conscious, ethical life that excludes the exploitation of animals through tours, social media, and outreach programs.

UWA PAW is organising a full day (10am to 8pm, including a communal dinner from 7pm, but you don’t have to stay all day if you can’t / don’t want to) outing to ABLAS around the mid sem break.

It’s loosely structured but includes a morning tour, meeting the animals, and then volunteering which involves preparing for winter by topping up straw in the shelters, some work on the shelters themselves for those who are open to working with power tools, and poo picking.

The sanctuary is located just outside of York, approximately a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Perth suburbs. We will be organising carpooling.
