Budgeting

Budgeting can be hard, but there are ways to make living on a student budget work.

Firstly, make a list of everything you currently spend your money on. You can do it based on your spending per week, fortnight or month. This list should give you an idea of where your dollars go, and possibly give you some ideas on where you can save.

Student Assist can look over your budget with you, and make suggestions on where savings can be made.

The MoneySmart Budget Planner, produced by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, is an excellent online budget calculator for students.
